How to Replace LED Headlight Bulbs on a 2016-2018 Dodge Ram 1500 with – Lasfit®

(This installation guide is compatible with 2014–2018 Dodge Ram 1500 models equipped with reflector headlights.)

Upgrading your Dodge Ram 1500 to LED headlight bulbs can significantly improve nighttime visibility and overall driving safety. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the complete installation process using a 2017 Ram 1500 as the example vehicle.

🔧 How to Install LED Headlight Bulbs

Follow the steps below to replace the stock halogen bulbs with LED bulbs:

1. Remove the Front Bumper
Start by taking off the bumper to access the headlight assembly.

2. Remove the Bolt on the Side of the Headlight
You’ll find a bolt securing the headlight on one side. Use a 10mm screwdriver or socket wrench to remove it.

3. Locate the Locking Clip
Once the headlight is pulled forward, you'll notice a locking clip connected on the outside of the assembly.

4. Access the Locking Clip Through the Fender
Turn your wheel outward to create room.
Reach into the fender liner area and push the locking clip upward to release the headlight assembly.

5. Remove the Dust Cover
Take off the dust cover behind the headlight to expose the OEM halogen bulb.

6. Remove the Halogen Bulb
Rotate the halogen bulb counterclockwise to release it.
(The example shown in the photos uses the H11 low beam.)

7. Disconnect the Bulb from the Harness
Pry open the small clip on the plug to detach the halogen bulb from the connector.

8. Install Your New LED Bulbs
Connect your new LED bulbs to the factory plug.
(The example shown uses the older LA Plus version.)

9. Insert the LED Bulb Into the Housing
Place the LED bulb into the headlight housing and rotate it until it locks securely.

10. Reinstall the Dust Cover and Bumper
Put the dust cover back on, reinstall the bumper, and your installation is complete!
