2025 HYUNDAI KONA N-LINE REAR TURN SIGNAL LED UPGRADE
I upgraded the factory rear halogen turn signal bulbs on my 2025 Hyundai Kona N-Line with Lasfit T3-BAU15S-A LED bulbs, and the difference is impressive.
The factory halogen bulbs are noticeably dimmer than the Lasfit LEDs. The new LEDs provide a brighter, crisper, more modern-looking turn signal.
What I like most about this installation is that you do not need to take the vehicle to a mechanic shop. There is no need to lift the vehicle, remove the bumper, or remove large body panels. With a few basic tools, you can complete this installation yourself.

REAR INSTALLATION – STEP BY STEP

1️⃣ PREPARE THE VEHICLE
Park the vehicle on a level surface, turn the vehicle off, and make sure the turn signal is switched off before beginning the installation.
You do not need to jack up the vehicle for this installation.
2️⃣ ACCESS THE REAR WHEEL-WELL AREA
Because the rear wheels cannot be turned to provide the same access as the front, you will need to work around the rear tire.
You can either remove the rear wheel for additional working room or, as demonstrated in my video, work around the tire using the right-angle screwdriver and trim removal tools.
3️⃣ REMOVE THE WHEEL-WELL TRIM CLIPS
Locate the plastic retaining clips securing the rear wheel-well cover.
On a standard setup, there should be approximately four clips in this area. However, my Kona has aftermarket mudflaps, so the configuration is different and I only needed to remove one of the clips in the rear wheel well.
There are also two additional clips underneath the wheel-well cover, where the cover folds underneath the vehicle.
Use the plastic trim removal tool to carefully remove the clips.
⚠️ TIP: The number and location of clips may vary depending on your vehicle configuration and any aftermarket accessories installed.
4️⃣ PULL BACK THE WHEEL-WELL COVER
Once the necessary clips have been removed, carefully pull/flex the wheel-well cover toward the tire.
The material is flexible and can be moved enough to provide access to the rear lighting assembly.
⚠️ Do not pull excessively. You only need to flex the cover enough to reach the bulb housing.
5️⃣ LOCATE THE TURN-SIGNAL BULB HOUSING
Once the cover is moved out of the way, you will have access to the rear light assembly.
Look toward the middle/larger white bulb housing connected to the wiring.
This is the housing for the turn signal bulb.
6️⃣ REMOVE THE BULB HOUSING
Turn the white bulb housing counterclockwise (to the left) to unlock it.
Once it is released, carefully pull the bulb housing out of the light assembly.

7️⃣ REMOVE THE FACTORY HALOGEN BULB
Remove the factory orange halogen bulb from the housing.
8️⃣ TEST THE LASFIT LED BEFORE FINAL INSTALLATION
Before completely installing the new bulb, turn on the vehicle's turn signal and verify that the Lasfit LED illuminates properly.
9️⃣ INSTALL THE LASFIT LED BULB
Insert the Lasfit LED into the bulb housing.
Make sure the bulb is fully seated.
The bulb should be secure and should not move, wiggle, or feel loose once installed.
IMPORTANT: I recommend wearing clean plastic gloves and avoiding direct contact with the bulb with your bare hands.
🔟 REINSTALL THE BULB HOUSING
Once the LED is properly seated, insert the bulb housing back into the rear light assembly.
Turn the housing clockwise (to the right) to lock it into position.
Make sure the housing is fully secured.
1️⃣1️⃣ REINSTALL THE WHEEL-WELL COVER
Carefully return the wheel-well cover to its original position.
Make sure the cover is properly aligned before reinstalling the clips.
1️⃣2️⃣ REINSTALL THE RETAINING CLIPS
Reinstall all of the clips that were removed during the installation.
When reinstalling the main trim pin, leave the center portion in the extended position before inserting it.
Once the clip is seated, push the center pin inward with your finger to lock it into place.
Make sure all clips under the vehicle and in the wheel wells are properly secured.
1️⃣3️⃣ FINAL TEST
Turn the vehicle on and test the rear turn signal.
